On the 25th May 2018 we (IAB, ID, IID)  went on a trip to Olsztyn. We met at 6.49 in the 3rd May Constitution Park and we set off at 7 a.m. Our  drive took 4 hours. We arrived at University of Warmia & Mazury where we had three lectures and two workshops. The first lecture was about evolution of the NBA Stars. The lecturer mgr Tomasz Jacheć compared this evolution to Darwin’s theory. After this presentation mgr Czesław Kiński and dr Jacek Łagun touched the subject “Insult, electrocution and other educational tricks”. They told us about one psychological experiment and the ways of teaching. The last lecture was led by dr Mateusz Bogdanowicz. He told about “The American Comic Culture” and how it changed through time. After the lectures the workshops started. Firstly, dr Katarzyna Kodeniec showed us a translator’s workflow. Secondly, we found out what is needed for the translation process. The next workshop, which everybody loved, was led by a British native speaker dr Robert Lee. Thanks to him we realized that each human is smart and valuable. He proved it using mugs and our skills of writing and reading. Then he showed us an ancient runic text:

It means: The fish beat up the seas on the mountainous cliff. The King of terror became sad when he swam on the shingle.

The writing was carved on to whale bone. If you want to find out more click the link below:

After the lectures and workshops we had some free time so we went to eat lunch. Around 5 p.m. we went to a planetarium and we had a lesson about our solar system. At 6 p.m. we drove back home. Everybody was satisfied with the trip, we are looking forward to the next one !!!!!
